  • I'm new to this post so you'll have to bear with me until i get my head around it. I've always been fascinated by the views of the contributors of this blogging site, and 'Debunking x-tianity' is a great way to get your message accross, particularly if you fall into the "Atheistic category", in my opinion! personally i believe religion and what is associated with it does represent certain qualities which would appeal to society in most walks of life. The reason for my participation on this site is because i'm of 'Turkish cypriot' extraction: Am a London born, british citizen whose parents are of a "Muslim religious" background, but despite this don't really consider myself a 'Religious person' as such, although respect other peoples beliefs & opinions: Am always willing to listen & learn from their experiences on this issue of "Religion,Atheism,Agnosticism etc."!
  • Why do people become religious then embark on this 'Fantastic adventure'? Your guess is as good as mine; there is no 'Cogent evidence' to support this line of reasoning, apart from needing some kind of shoulder to lean on when the going gets tough; someone to turn to in times of desperation & for somebody to talk to, particularly in this 'Sellfish soul destroying' society which we live in today. When i'm out doing some shopping for instance, it's as though everyone is preoccupied with their own thoughts, that they don't seem to notice other people around,-'It's as though their in some sort of limbo'-& if you're not careful they'll just mow you down with the supermarket trolley, or walk straight into you without knowing!
