The killing fields!

I've been pondering this dilemma for some time now: That is what compels someone to slaughter another fellow human being for no apparent reason; every day we hear accounts of people that have been 'Viciously attacked', they're either 'Knifed, shot, or beaten to death'! Now we all know that there's an element of 'Sick minded' individuals out there, who are just 'Hell-bent' on the road to self destruction & therefore will do anything to draw attention to themselves, by whatever means possible; We've all been taught about the 'Good & evil' in this world; the do's & dont's, what's right what's wrong etc., but what happens when all these 'Wise teachings', during childhood &/or approaching adulthood is somehow 'Supplanted': By that i mean 'Some other form of doctrine' which encourages 'Violence & racism',- 'That subsequently 'Compels' the individual',- through the 'Teachings' of this 'Doctrine' to do exactly the opposite to what they were taught during their childhood years. Take the 'Suicide bomber' for instance, what 'Compels' that person (Some are very young indeed) to 'Sacrifice' their lives for the 'Ideological beliefs', in which they're 'Indoctrinated' by the religious leaders. These 'Extreme fundamentalists' that arrange these suicide missions are only intent on one sole purpose in my view; that is to cause as much 'Misery & destruction' as they possibly can, all in the cause of "Religious Doctrine Belief"! Now let's take a look at the 'Environment' in which we live & are brought up in, particularly the 'Inner city', where 'Violent crime' is on the increase at an alarming rate,- 'Every day there's an incident of some kind'- pessimism aside, the prospect of a safer 'Environment' in which to live is very remote indeed, therefore it can only get worse in my view. When there's 'Disparity' among the population, & the poor are getting poorer there will always be an element of 'Disaffected individuals' who are more than willing to get involved with the wrong crowd, so to speak; These large 'Housing estates' are a 'Breeding ground' for such individuals to get led astray, youngsters in particular are at that impressionable age, therefore easily influenced by these 'Recruitment scouts' of those 'Subversive groups'!

  • I'm new to this post so you'll have to bear with me until i get my head around it. I've always been fascinated by the views of the contributors of this blogging site, and 'Debunking x-tianity' is a great way to get your message accross, particularly if you fall into the "Atheistic category", in my opinion! personally i believe religion and what is associated with it does represent certain qualities which would appeal to society in most walks of life. The reason for my participation on this site is because i'm of 'Turkish cypriot' extraction: Am a London born, british citizen whose parents are of a "Muslim religious" background, but despite this don't really consider myself a 'Religious person' as such, although respect other peoples beliefs & opinions: Am always willing to listen & learn from their experiences on this issue of "Religion,Atheism,Agnosticism etc."!
  • Why do people become religious then embark on this 'Fantastic adventure'? Your guess is as good as mine; there is no 'Cogent evidence' to support this line of reasoning, apart from needing some kind of shoulder to lean on when the going gets tough; someone to turn to in times of desperation & for somebody to talk to, particularly in this 'Sellfish soul destroying' society which we live in today. When i'm out doing some shopping for instance, it's as though everyone is preoccupied with their own thoughts, that they don't seem to notice other people around,-'It's as though their in some sort of limbo'-& if you're not careful they'll just mow you down with the supermarket trolley, or walk straight into you without knowing!
